About:
The city of the missions work is Waterford, Republic of Ireland. The city population is 80,000, and the primary language is English. The mainstream religion in all of Ireland is Roman Catholicism, which accounts for about 97%. The Republic of Ireland is currently enjoying an economic boom. Living conditions among the Irish have improved greatly over the last few years.
There are 70 people currently attending services regularly at our local church, which does not include other outreach stations.
The Potters do not at present have a formal Bible School. Reverend Potter continues Bible Study series with the local congregation. Several home Bible studies, such as Exploring God’s Word, are being taught each week.
The church in Waterford had its beginning on June 1st, 2001, in a function room rented in a local hotel. Very soon they will be acquiring property and a building of their own to have services in. The building will be able to seat well over 200 people when it becomes available.
Prior to going to Ireland, the Potters pastored in the city of Fallbrook/Temecula, California. During this time Reverend Potter realized that his burden and call to the people of the Republic of Ireland was very real; upon this realization that is was the absolute will of God, He met with the ALJC Foreign Missions Board and shared his burden with them. He was appointed as a missionary to the Republic of Ireland in November of 1999. They still feel this strong call in their lives and are happy to serve in the perfect will of God.
Other family members carrying the missionary burden are Reverend Potter’s wife, Sister Linda R. Potter, and daughter, Julie A. Potter.
“We have a burden for the people of Ireland and we thank God that He has made a way for us to express this burden in reaching souls before the Great Rapture of His people. Our burden and vision is to establish a strong work in every major city in the country. We are so thankful for all our brothers and sisters in the United States who have joined with us in helping the Lord to accomplish this great task.”
